From February 2011, the new sensorProbe2 PoE-version is available. Here the power of the sensorProbe2-PoE is supplied via the Power over Ethernet 802.3 standard. Please note that you need for sensorProbe2-PoE model an PoE-enabled network switch or a PoE injector. The power supply via PoE (Power over Ethernet) provides in difficult infrastructure, where no 220V power supply is available, specific benefits. Since the sensorProbe2 PoE is equipped with an external power supply, the power supply can serve as a backup power.
The new sensorProbe2-PoE is a intelligent 2 port sensor device for monitoring environmental variations, power, physical threats and security.The SP2-PoE is a completely embedded host with a proprietary Linux like Operating System, including TCP/IP stack, Web server, email and full SNMP functionality. SMS notifications can be sent via a 3rd party email-to-SMS gateway.
The new sensorProbe2-PoE comes with a new CPU that is 3 times higher speed compared to the earlier version of sensorProbe2-PoEA, faster network connection, new web interface similar to sensorProbe8 series of products including the subnet mask, remote syslog interface. It also includes a battery backed time of day clock. The new sensorProbe2-PoE also has advance events filtering options. Now you can plug in our motion detector to the new sensorProbe2-PoE.
The important feature in new sensorProbe2-PoE is, the integration with a single chip relative humidity and temperature multi sensor module comprising a calibrated digital output. The sensor includes a capacitive polymer sensing element for relative humidity and a bandgap temperature sensor. Both are seamlessly coupled to a 14bit analog to digital converter and a serial interface circuit on the same chip. This results in superior signal quality, a fast response time and insensitivity to external disturbances (EMC). By having both temperature & humidity sensors in a single sensor, the sensorProbe2-PoE can have up to a maximum of 2 temperature & 2 humidity sensors. This extends the capability of the sensorProbe2-PoE to maximum of 4 sensing parameters.
Dry contacts and drivers are available for monitoring UPS status, security systems, air conditioning status.
Every sensor comes with our unique autosense feature. Whenever a new type of sensor is plugged in, the autosense will recognize it and re configure the SP2-PoE to begin monitoring it. In the event of an alarm or temperature / humidity threshold being exceeded, it has ability to send alert notification using Email, SMS (via an email-to-SMS gateway) and SNMP Traps.
